Fluorescence Guided Total Robotic Parietal Peritonectomy, Cytoreductive Surgery and Closed HIPEC

When cancer spreads as small deposits over the thin lining inside the tummy wall (the parietal peritoneum), surgeons may strip away that lining — a peritonectomy — and then wash the tummy with heated chemotherapy (HIPEC, garam chemo). This work shows the operation done with a surgical robot, with a dye that glows under a special camera light (fluorescence) to help the surgeon see, and with “closed” HIPEC, where the tummy is closed while the heated chemotherapy circulates.
