The short answer: treatment for cervical cancer at private hospitals in Ahmedabad usually costs somewhere between about Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 8 lakh in total. These are indicative 2026 ranges, not a quote. The biggest thing that changes the cost is the stage (how far the cancer has spread). A very early cancer may need only a small operation. Most early cancers that need a bigger operation are treated with an open radical hysterectomy (removal of the womb, the cervix and the tissue around it). Larger or more advanced cancers (generally stage 1B3 and above) are usually treated with chemoradiation (radiotherapy, or sikai, given with weekly chemotherapy) instead of surgery. Your final figure comes as a written estimate from the hospital where your treatment is planned.
Many families search for this as cervical cancer ka ilaj or bachedani ke muh ka cancer (बच्चेदानी के मुँह का कैंसर) ka kharcha. Eligible families may be covered under PMJAY (Ayushman Bharat) up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year.

International patients (USD equivalent): approx $1,800 – $9,500
Updated for 2026. They are not a quote: the written estimate comes from the hospital where your treatment is planned, after your reports have been reviewed.
What changes the cost of cervical cancer treatment
Stage-based pathway
- Very early cancer (stage 1A): in many cases a cone biopsy or a simple hysterectomy, about Rs 1,50,000-3,00,000.
- Early cancer confined to the cervix and under about 4 cm (stage 1B1-1B2): usually a radical hysterectomy, which for most women is done as open surgery, sometimes followed by radiotherapy if the tissue report shows risk factors, about Rs 3,00,000-5,00,000.
- Larger or locally advanced cancer (generally stage 1B3 and above, up to stage 4A): chemoradiation, about Rs 3,50,000-6,50,000.
- Cancer that comes back (recurrent disease): the cost is usually higher and depends on the treatment chosen.
The exact plan depends on your scans, biopsy and overall health, so your own treatment may not match these groups exactly.
Surgery or chemoradiation: chosen by stage, not by price
Surgery and chemoradiation are not two options to pick between on cost. The stage decides which one is likely to work best. Specialists try to choose one main treatment from the start, because surgery followed by radiotherapy adds to both the cost and the side effects. Chemoradiation is usually about 25 radiotherapy sessions over about 5 weeks, given with weekly chemotherapy (cisplatin), followed by internal radiotherapy (brachytherapy). Why open surgery, not robotic, for most cervical cancers
A large 2018 study (the LACC trial) found that women with early cervical cancer who had keyhole or robotic radical hysterectomy had their cancer come back more often, and lower survival, than women who had open surgery. For this reason, open radical hysterectomy is the standard for most early cervical cancers. Keyhole or robotic surgery is considered only for selected small tumours (usually under 2 cm), after this evidence has been discussed with you. Open surgery usually costs less than robotic surgery, although the hospital stay is longer (often about 6-8 days).
Fertility-preserving option
Radical trachelectomy (Stage 1B1, fertility-preserving) costs similar to standard radical hysterectomy and is offered to selected younger women.
Brachytherapy
Image-guided brachytherapy (essential for cervical chemoradiation) adds Rs 60,000-1,50,000 and is available at limited centres.
Insurance reality
Cervical cancer is covered under most cancer insurance policies in India; check your own policy and ask for pre-authorisation before admission. The Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY, Ayushman Bharat) covers eligible families up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year. If radiotherapy is given at a different centre from your surgery, ask each centre for its own estimate.
How to get a personal quote
For an honest personalised cost estimate:
- Share your reports on WhatsApp at +91 76988 00333 (or via second opinion request).
- Dr. Nishtha reviews stage, complexity and any complicating factors.
- A written quote is prepared by the admissions team of the hospital where your treatment is planned, based on the proposed plan.
- If insurance is available, pre-authorisation is initiated at this stage.

FAQs on cervical cancer treatment cost
Do these figures include everything?
The range covers the surgical or medical procedure plus standard hospital stay, anaesthesia, and routine pre-op investigations. It does NOT typically include: PET-CT (Rs 18,000-25,000), genetic/biomarker testing (Rs 25,000-60,000), maintenance therapy, or out-of-pocket travel and accommodation.
Will insurance or Ayushman Bharat (PMJAY) cover cervical cancer treatment?
Most cashless cancer-care policies in India cover treatment for a diagnosed cancer under their standard benefits, but check your own policy. Pre-authorisation is required and we assist with the documentation. The Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY, Ayushman Bharat) covers eligible families up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year; ask the hospital which parts of your plan the scheme covers.
Is treatment cheaper at government or smaller hospitals?
Often, yes. Government cancer centres and smaller hospitals usually charge less than large private hospitals. For an operation such as a radical hysterectomy, the experience of the surgeon and the team also matters, so it is reasonable to ask who will operate and how often they do this operation. Choose the centre that can give the right treatment for your stage.
Can I get a written cost estimate before deciding?
Yes. After Dr. Nishtha reviews your reports (which you can share on WhatsApp on +91 76988 00333), the hospital admissions team prepares a written estimate with itemised line-items. This is provided before you commit to surgery.
Do you offer payment plans?
Most cashless insurance policies require no upfront payment beyond a small admission deposit. For self-pay patients, ask the hospital admissions team whether EMI or healthcare-loan options are available; they explain options during planning.
