Bowel Anastomosis In Cytoreductive Surgery + HIPEC: After Or Before HIPEC

During cancer surgery with HIPEC (garam chemo, heated chemotherapy washed through the tummy), surgeons sometimes need to remove part of the bowel and join the two ends again — this join is called an anastomosis (aant jodna, आंत जोड़ना). This research asked whether it is safer to make the join before or after the heated chemotherapy. In this study the timing made no real difference to the risk of the join leaking.
